Bay Cottage is a hundred yards from the shores of Lough
Neagh and three miles from the International Airport. It is a
comfortable family home for the McBride family, furnished with an
eclectic mixture of antique and modern furniture. The guest
bedrooms and sitting room have uninterrupted views of the Lough.
It is an ideal location to visit Belfast, Lisburn or Ballymena as
well as Antrim or as a base for exploring scenic Northern Ireland.
Local attractions include the TACT Wildlife Centre based in the
small, local town of Crumlin which also has the pretty Crumlin
Glen and is not far from Langford Lodge, once home to the
Packenham family and an American base during WW2. Elizabeth and
Norman ensure there is an extensive range of tourist literature
available and are always willing to offer suggestions to assist
guests to make the most of their stay in Northern Ireland.
As keen animal lovers we are happy to offer canine guests
the use of an insulated kennel with attached run, sadly they are
not allowed in the house. Humans and dogs may enjoy a stroll along
the quiet local roads which provides an opportunity to see a
variety of wildlife, particularly birds such as herons, buzzards,
kestrels.
We are able to offer shelter for motorbikes or bicycles,
ideal for those touring on two wheels and it is possible to beach
a canoe at the edge of the lough and walk up to the house. The
house is on route 94 Sustrans and close to the Ulster Grand Prix
circuit. Norman is a keen motorcyclist and able to offer
suggestions for good days out.
